was established in 1972. A humble beginning then has now grown into a multi-specialty health and research centre holding a distinct recognition in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The institute is run and managed by a group of qualified professionals and is chaired under the supervision of our founder Dr. M. R. Jhanwar who is our present director. Dr. Venu Gopal Jhanwar is the Head of the Department of Psychiatry, and also the co-director. When the institute was started people with Neuro psychiatric illnesses did not have access to specialized care in this part of India. As a result treatment meant traveling to faraway regions of the country. Over the last decade the number of cases seen at this institute has grown up more than hundred times. Presently, the Institute addresses primarily neuropsychiatric illnesses in both adult and child and adolescent population. We have Out & Inpatient Facility with 45 beds Resident Care. Our scientific, psychological and multi focused process and approaches, along with intense monitoring of a patient under the guidance of best multidisciplinary mental health professionals, like psychiatrist, physician, psychologist and social worker makes us one among the top mental health care service provider in Varanasi.

Also a day care child facility is running. The institute is accredited by State Mental Health Authority to impart patient care services. It is an ISO 9001: 2015 Certified Institute which signifies quality management system standards to effectively need our patient’s requirements. Deva Institute of Healthcare & Research Pvt. Ltd. has a huge patient population referred here as it is a tertiary referral centre for the districts. it is the only licensed psychiatric hospital in this part of the country. The patients of whom mainly a major chunk is coming from the large rural and tribal belts of this district while the rest comes from the urban areas of Azamgarh, Bhadoi, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Balia, Uchahar, Gaya, Mughal Sarai, Chandauli & neighbouring states of Bihar, M.P., West Bengal.
